Decisions, Decisions…Why have your carpets cleaned? Dirt is an abrasive-like sandpaper. Every time you step on your carpet, you grind dirt into the carpet fibers. This cuts your carpet, just as if you had used a knife. This cutting causes your carpet to wear out faster. A dirty carpet will not last as long as a clean carpet. While vacuuming helps – by itself, it’s simply not enough. The longer you wait to have your carpet cleaned, the more damage you do to your carpet and the faster it wears out. Many people have asked me the same question as a Willoughby, Ohio resident asked me today. How should I go about choosing the right carpet cleaner?
Answer:
- Ask, how much experience they have? You don’t want them to learn on your carpet without at least an experienced person supervising and assisting them.
- Ask, If they are insure?
- Ask, If they use pre-spray and if there is an extra charge? You want your carpet pre-sprayed. If they steam clean and don’t pre- spray then you saved them time and paid full price for half of a carpet clean. Pre-spray is one very important step and it shouldn’t be an extra charge.
- Ask, What is there average dry time? your carpet should be dry to the touch with in 2-4 hours under normal circumstances. If they over soak your carpet and don’t get it all out it can take forever for your carpet to dry. I have heard from customers that have told me about some companies that it took a week to dry. the longer your carpet is wet the more chance of stains reappearing and many other complications.

Wow, a lot happened in 2009 at Smart Choice Cleaning. We started a web site and have two new phone numbers. We got a new machine that is helping us to keep up with demand and allowing for even faster dry times on your carpet. We in our course of cleaning got to meet so many new faces this year. 2009 was a great year and we are sad to see it go but then again we are excited about 2010 and all the possibilities that it holds in store.
